VEG YOU SHOULD BUY

Silverbeet (Spinach) – There is an abundance of Silverbeet in the market. GREAT VALUE! Popeye wasn’t wrong Silverbeet is fantastic for you and an awesome versatile veggie; sautéed as a side, tossed in a pasta or casserole. Looking for some new ideas? Try this cool way to use Silverbeet as a Burrito wrap in my BEEF AN BLACK BEAN BURRITO RECIPE

Asparagus – Local Asparagus season is thriving – definitely get these in your kitchen this week! Awesome value too!

FREE SEASONAL HEALTHY RECIPE: CHICKEN, ASPARAGUS & PROSCIUTTO RISOTTO (CAULIFLOWER RICE)

Tomatoes  – Grape tomatoes have slowed due to a lashing of wet weather, however cherry toms and Roma’s are fantastic, they are my pick for the salads this week.

Then this week get on these lines – Broad Beans, Cabbage (Red & White/Green), Rainbow Chard, Dutch carrots, Heirloom Carrots, Radish, Tuscan Cabbage, Kale, Silverbeet, English Spinach, Asian Veg (Bok Choy, Choy Sum, Gai Lan), all herbs (except basil) and Leek bunches (finishing soon).

VEG AND SALAD LINES TO WATCH (BUY WITH CAUTION)

Avocados – Most fruit is coming in from WA. Quality is awesome, however, supplies are limited forcing prices high in the sky!

Sweet Potato  – Last weeks rains in QLD are still causing some issues, prices are firm and quality is average.

BEST FRUITS

Berries – Blueberry quality and supply remains excellent. Best value berry this week!

Mulberries have hit the market, super sweet, delicious and sure to take a few baby boomers back to the golden years where these delicious berries filled their front yards! As they have just hit, prices are firm, but the quality is good.

Strawberry supply is AVERAGE at best!

Rockmelons and Watermelon – Quality is excellent, i think this week I ate the best rockmelon I have ever eaten! Definitely worthy of a selection in your basket.

Pineapple – Loving the tops on pines! They are actually a hybrid variety of the old school tops on pineapple and the smooth topless pineapple, hence why they are so damn sweet!

Stonefruits – MANGOES  – PEACHES – NECTARINES – SUMMER – FRUIT – PARTY. Peaches and Nectarines are still early season, so quality will improve daily, this week was a little bit of a slower week for supply, however, it won’t be long now to the party really gets underway.

Citrus – Late season mandies are ticking all the boxes! Also for those of you who like ruby grapefruit, we have had an influx of feedback saying the Star Ruby Grapefruit we are running at the moment are the best they have ever eaten.
