Jaeger’s Weekly Market Update 16.10.20
Let’s get the stones rolling! Very happy to say next week will mark the start of our stone fruits (well other than the cheeky old mango!).
We will kick off next week with peaches, which makes me seriously happy, a new array of seasonal beauty is around the corner. There has been bits and bobs around the market for about three weeks, however I wasn’t confident in how the fruit would ripen, a tad immature. Mangoes are eating sensationally and will continue to improve over the coming weeks as we move from Darwin to Katherine crops.
Berries, are outstanding. It’s the triple threat this week with raspberries, strawbs and blues all great. My pick would still be the premium XXL Strawbs – they are an absolute treat!
Papaya and pines are also worth a look in this week, both eating sensational and the perfect tropical pick me up! Nectarines, Cherries, Apricots and Lychees are a sniff away. I’m thinking 2-3 weeks and we should have the full monty!
Veg land is also firing along! Beet bunches are a sight for the eyes next week. Big, beautiful, red and luscious – they are a must!
We have variety of super sweet Grape tomatoes landing Monday and I certainly wouldn’t miss them 🙂
Cucumbers, Zuccs, Broc, Cauli, Capsicums and Truss tomatoes are all great too!
FISH OF THE WEEK
We are running with Ocean Perch again for our Fish of the Week. A simple to use easy white fish, that the whole family should love.
